Cultivation of strawberry is done here as the climatic condition are cool and red fertile soil rich in iron which is perfect for the cultivation of this delicious fruit,24,000 saplings are planted in one acre of land as one plant gives about 20 fruits. Strawberries are seasonal fruit and it’s price goes high during summer season , strawberries of Mahabaleshwar contains 80% water,10% Glucose which makes it sweeter than the other strawberries and it is also rich in protein, fiber, carbohydrates, potassium, folic acid, antioxidants and Vitamin C which is good for health.

Pratapgarh
Pratapgarh also known Pratapgad is a very large beautiful hill fort which is situated in the district of Satara in the state of Maharashtra .This fort is a heritage site and stands as a witness of the great historic ‘Battle of Pratapgarh’ which was between the great ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji and Afzal Khan,who was the commander of Bijapur Sultanate. There is a tower right outside the fort which is called ‘Afzal Burj’ or ‘Afzal Tower’ as it is said that the head of Afzal Khan is buried under the tower and the tomb of Afzal Khan is on the northwest.

Elephant’s Head Point also known Needle Hole Point is situated right next to Kate’s Point, these two spots are the most attractive tourist viewpoints. The name ‘Elephant’s Head Point’ is gotten from the hanging cliff which resembles the head of the Elephant. This lovely point offers a beautiful view of Sahyadri Mountain Range,the place is covered with greenery which makes this viewpoint even more beautiful and peaceful to eyes.

Echo point also known as Kate’s Point,it offers a spectacular view of a beautiful krishna valley and gorgeous Dhom dam,you can get on the hilltop and scream your heart out and hear the reverberations coming back clearly . The history behind this beautiful view point is that the daughter of Sir James Malcolm who was an authority of the British raj,named Kate loved spending her time on this beautiful viewpoint hence this viewpoint is named after her.
